PM Orders Authorities to Strengthen Security and Order During Upcoming KNY

KAMPONG SPEU: Prime Minister Hun Sen has ordered authorities to strengthen security and order across locations where many people will visit during the upcoming Khmer New Year holidays.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of National Road No. 51 on Friday morning (25 March), the Prime Minister said: “Authorities must be well-prepared for [strengthening] local security, making people happy by making [advanced] preparations from today onwards.”

He added that the tourism sector must also be prepared and organized, because there will be many people who will travel across the country and visit different tourist destinations during the holiday.

This year, Prime Minister Hun Sen announced that he and his family will be going on holiday to Sihanoukville for three days for the Khmer New Year.
